Strengthening our Community One Cheers at a Time
Our Celebrity Bartending Event Series is Back!
We are very excited to kick off this year’s Celebrity Bartending event series with three empowering women from The Junior League of Lancaster (JLL). The event is in support of The League’s mission to improve the community through promoting volunteerism, encourage education and charitably and develop the potential of women throughout Lancaster County.
All tips from the evening’s event will benefit The Leagues’ three current projects; the Lydia Hamilton Smith Society, the Business Plan Competition for High School Girls, and the Childhood Nutrition Program.
- Lydia Hamilton Smith Society: In collaboration with J.P. McCaskey High School, this mentoring program is designed to help girls develop social, business and research as well as entrepreneurial skills. Society members research historic female figures and translates their findings into modern times. For more information about this project, please visit the Lydia Hamilton Smith Society website.
- Business Plan Competition for High School Girls: The Junior League of Lancaster is an active sponsor of Girls in Business. The program provides guidance to high school girls who are interested in starting their own businesses. The ladies do not need to have a business plan to apply, just an idea to develop. This competition is open to all high school girls in Lancaster County. If you are interested in participating, please contact Girls in Business.
- Childhood Nutrition Program: In 2006, the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. and League members created an initiative called, Kids in the Kitchen. The program helps communities combat issues revolving around poor nutrition and childhood obesity. Kids are invited to participate in cooking classes and programs that teach them healthy eating habits and how to prepare nutritious meals and snacks. To learn more about this program, please contact the Junior League of Lancaster.
Mark your calendars and join us along with our three celebrity bartenders; Amy Hartz, (President of the Junior League), Junior League board members Amanda Funk, and Holly Love from BOB 94.9 to raise your glass on February 25th from 5:00pm – 8:00pm.
